Hello, my name is Mark and I’m the administrator and creator of Youth Work Resource (Formally Stand For Christ), this webpage should inform you about the Stand For Christ history, STC today and even a bit about the future.

Stand For Christ Today

Stand For Christ has evolved a lot since it started and since we entered the previous stage in early 2008 we have been looking at how the site has been used and how we can improve the site. As a youth worker finding time to update the site regularly has been a challenge and also the forums didn’t become as popular a hoped. For this reason you are now witnessing the newest phase of Stand For Christ, focusing on resourcing youth workers and also providing articles which may challenge your views and thoughts mainly on Christian or Youth Work subjects.

Behind the scenes this new version of the site runs on Wordpress making it much easier to navigate for you but also much easier to update for myself.

Stand for Christ relaunched as ‘Youth Work Resource’ on the 4th October 2009

History

Stand For Christ began life in October 2004 and began as bigfatsmellychicken.co.uk. It was designed by Mark Tiddy and began life as a college project, a place for Mark to practice html and improve on web design.

Soon after this however and with much more web designing the website took a more serious site using the abreviation bfsc rather than bigfatsmellychicken, alongside this came sections including photos and cd reviews.

In May 2006 bigfatsmellychicken.co.uk came up for renewal and the decission was made to change the site name to standforchrist. Stand for Christ was launched with a new design and several new features

Almost 2 years later standforchrist was up for renewal again…so what was to become of stand for Christ?

At this point the decission was made for STC to have more of a key focus, and following some brilliant press for the site in Youth Work magazine a focus on Christian Youth Work Resources and Forums was decided, after 2 months the new design was launched alongside a whole host of resources for youth workers.
